Standardized tools used by professionals and individuals to assess the severity of hoarding and guide intervention.

ICD Clutter-Hoarding Scale

Five-level framework (Level I Green/Low through Level V Red/Severe) assessing structural integrity, animal/pest control, household functionality, and health and safety.

Clutter Image Rating Scale (CIR)

Visual scale from the International OCD Foundation used to assess degree of clutter. Ranges from Level 1 (minimal) to Level 9 (severe hoarding) using photographs of living spaces.

Uniform Inspection Checklist (UIC)

Comprehensive inspection tool from the Center for Hoarding and Cluttering. Assesses safety and sanitation based on housing codes, fire safety, and health guidelines.

Wellington-Guelph Hoarding Response Checklist

10 Steps to a Safer, Healthier and More Comfortable Home. Evaluates clutter severity and potential health/safety risks for professionals and intervention teams.

ICD Quality of Life Scale

Assessment tool from the Institute for Challenging Disorganization measuring quality of life impact for individuals affected by hoarding and chronic disorganization.

Supportive Facebook community for individuals dealing with clutter, disorganization, and hoarding. Tips, motivation, and resources.

Spenders Anonymous

12-step fellowship for individuals struggling with compulsive spending — a common co-occurring behavior with hoarding disorder.
